The Agricultural Act of 2014 (“Farm Bill”) defines the term “industrial hemp” to include the plant Cannabis Sativa L. and any part or derivative of such plant that is used exclusively for industrial purposes. To be considered hemp, the plant can contain at most 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis. Industrial hemp looks similar to bamboo, planted in close proximity and grown to a height of 10 to 15 feet or more.
